Darienne receives a distinction for her University project

Congratulations to Richmond Bell's Darienne who has gained a distinction for her 2nd year project as part of her Architecture Masters degree.

Darienne is currently studying for her Part 2 qualifications at the University of Portsmouth on the Government Apprenticeship scheme. She spends 4 days a week with us in the office, and the other at university. This allows her to gain practical experience alongside her studies. The Part II course is usually two years full time, but studying part-time over four years as an apprentice also includes the Part 3 qualification. This means that Darienne will finish her Architecture Masters as an ARB-registered architect.

Darienne based her project on her recent University trip to Venice. She designed a new art gallery and artists’ studios for Torcello, one of the Venetian islands. The gallery reflects shape of the historic churches on the island. The proposal would revive Torcello (currently home to only 12 residents) with a diverse community of artists, and increase the opportunities for tourism. It will also help preserve the future of Venice’s arts and cultural identity.

Darienne worked incredibly hard on the project, and the rest of the RBA team have enjoyed hearing about it!
